KELT CAPITAL HORSE OF THE YEAR 2008

 We are delighted to be the Official Wine Sponsor of the Kelt Capital Horse of the Year for 2008. It's our first year as wine sponsor and as well as suppling wines for the presentation ceremonies, offical launch parties and celebratory prize giving dinners, we will be running a very classy Wine Bar & Cafe on site at the showgrounds between the two competition arenas. Food for the Cafe will be prepared on site by the great people from the famous Fat Dog Cafe in Rotorua.

The Hat 'n' Whip Wine Bar & Cafe will be  both an oasis from the general showgrounds hubbub plus a great place to meet friends, eat some good food well matched with Hatton Estate wines and watch the action from our arena-side garden bar area.

In Olympic year there will be keen competition for Dressage Rider World ranking points and with Hatton Estate as principal sponsor of the Grand Prix Musical Freestyle, Horse of the Year are able to offer what is considered an Australasian record prize pool of $30,000 for a dressage event - with $10,000 to the winner! Not surprisingly there has been a record number of entries!

• Big Shed Red a punchy blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, for the serious steak meal.
• Carson’s Cabernets a Cabernet Franc dominant wine with a backbone of Cabernet Sauvignon, delicious on its own and a fragrant accompaniment to pasta and poultry dishes.
• Syrah, The Doctor, 100% Syrah dense deeply coloured extravagant expression of the best of New Zealand Syrah- just what the Doctor ordered.
• Tahi-One, our signature wine , a classic Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc a treat with a special meal or the perfect gift for the serious oenophile!
