2001: Vintage rating 89
A cool start with heavy frosts, but
a good summer. There was no Tahi 2001; all good stuff but only 6 barrels due to frost. We declassified to our new Carsons range and drank the balance- at the time Colleen and I were still working in London and most of our grapes were sold off in bulk so we could afford to!
Carsons Cabernet Sauvignon 2001 ; drinking well now a serious wine which will outlast your patience, till 2008 at least.

A dry warm vintage, with a beautiful dry autumn. The Tahi 2000 is just being released by Laytons in the UK now, and it is in a few restaurants in London and Auckland, a dense serious wine reflecting the vintage well, still tasting young, but worth the wait in your cellar.
Tahi 2000 is in the USA in Chicago, New York and California and Florida, see FIND OUR WINES for details.
Tahi 2000 delicious drinking, mid 2004 to 2012 .

A cooler vintage, with very difficult picking times, everyone dodging the inclement weather. We didn't make a Tahi 99, there was only one barrel we liked out of the 12 we made so it wasn’t really commercially viable, and so we sold 11 off as bulk and drank the good one ourselves. Good job this!

A warm to hot vintage and a warm and elegant wine made as the first Tahi blend. 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot 12% Cabernet Franc a complete reflection of the vineyard in everyway. This wine was our first to be exported upon release in 2002. Now sold out in the UK and just library stocks left in New Zealand. Drinking well now but will continue to age gracefully until 2008.

An uneventful year warmer than 99 cooler than 2000. We made an elegant wine in very small volume, unfiltered, and not commercially released. You have to be at one of the family BBQs to get a glass. Drinking well still but at its peak, as of Christmas 2004
